Lara confessed her gender identity through the fan communication platform Weverse on the 24th, saying, `I was scared because it was scary and had a wall of color. But I'm proud of myself.'
Then "I am grateful for the support of many people and fans who share my life with me. Gender identity is part of me and I'm not ashamed at all."
Lara made her debut as a localized girl group Cats Eye in the U.S. through the audition program `The Debut: Dream Academy' that aired last year.
Cats Eye is a multinational group co-produced by Hive and Geffen Records and consists of Lara, as well as Daniela, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yun Chae.
Since its debut, Cats Eye has performed as a digital single 'Debut', EP 1st album 'SIS(Soft Is Strong)', and remix single 'Touch (ft. YEONJUN)'.
