On the 26th, the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pil-ho) announced that IU donated a total of 200 million won, 100 million won each, to support forest fire damage and to improve the treatment and awareness of firefighters devoted to disaster sites.
IU said, `I hope it will be of little help to those affected, and I express my deepest condolences to the victims. I sincerely hope that the forest fires will be extinguished as soon as possible without further casualties. We deeply appreciate the dedication of the firefighters working on extinguishing the fire," he said.
IU has previously exerted a good influence by participating in donations in various disasters such as helping flood neighbors in 2020 and forest fires on the east coast in 2022.
In particular, IU's official donation until recently amounted to about 6 billion won, and she was the youngest to be listed on the Forbes list of 「30 Asian Donation Heroes」 in 2019.
Secretary-General of Hope Bridge Shin Hoon said, `IU's donation is a sharing of deep solidarity for neighbors and appreciation for those who struggle in the unseen.' `We will do our best to ensure that the precious meaning is fully conveyed to the affected area and the site.'
