NewJeans Reveals Reason for Activity Suspension in BBC Interview

On the 26th, a video titled 'Newzins, 'NJZ' was posted on the YouTube channel 'BBC News Korea'. BBC News Korea released two interviews it had with its members.
First of all, Hani in the video emphasized that the decisions we made over the past year were all made through tremendous discussions within us, and that it was a choice of five members to sign an exclusive contract with Eodo.
Then "Honestly, I don't feel comfortable bringing this up over and over again. It includes stories from other teams, and we don't want to have any impact on them. People wouldn't know if they didn't say their thoughts and feelings publicly. I think people would have believed only what was being reported in the media."
Daniel said "In 2024, as I went through this situation myself, I tried to keep everything quiet. I tried to suppress my feelings and just ignore what was going on around me. Because I was preparing for the comeback when the situation started. But at some point, I came to the point where I felt like I was going to explode. It was heartbreaking,' he said, explaining why he entered a court dispute with Odor.

"I really expected a different outcome, but I really remember everyone being shocked," Daniel says.
He then said "We just want to keep working. We want to continue the work we love without being disturbed and without lies and misunderstandings"showing a willingness to engage in activities.
Hyein says, "Some people think that we're very famous and that we're in a position to do whatever we want and say whatever we want"We put up with it very much, but we've barely spoken out about the absurdity we've experienced, but honestly, from a social point of view, the situation is not flowing in our favor. But I think the situation itself speaks to that fact. We spoke with great courage," he said emphatically.
Hani says "It's our greatest fear that we don't know if we can continue this work. That's why we keep moving forward. But this fear always lingers in the back of my mind. Anything can happen, and we never expected this to happen until we were trainees two years ago. I don't know what kind of future there will be. There might be a situation where I can't really be active anymore and I really want to avoid that. Anything will happen, but I really want to avoid such a situation."
Earlier, five members of the New Jeans held an emergency press conference in November last year and began their own activities, saying that the contract was terminated due to the violation of Adore's exclusive contract.
In December of that year, Adore filed a lawsuit against the members in the Seoul Central District Court to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract, and in January of that year, he applied for a injunction against the preservation of the status of an agency and the conclusion of an advertising contract with the aim of `preventing members from signing their own advertising contracts.'
Later, in order to expand the scope of the provisional injunction application, Audor asked "Please ban music activities such as songwriting, composition, and singing of Newzins", and on the 21st, the court accepted this and decided to cite all of them.
Since then, Newzins has been on stage at the Complex Con held at the Asia World Expo in Hong Kong on the 23rd and announced the suspension of its activities.
Members said, "Today's performance could be the last performance for a while."We decided to suspend all activities for a while in respect of the court's judgment. I know better than anyone that our choice will not be easy, but this is what protects us. It's a necessary choice for us right now. I don't regret my choice."
