Meydin Ga-eun will not avoid the press conference for sexual harassment by the CEO of the agency on the 29th (today)

Ga-eun, a former member of girl group Maidin, claimed that she was sexually harassed by the former CEO of 143 Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as 143).

The Hanbit Media Labor and Human Rights Center (hereinafter referred to as the Hanbit Center) will hold a press conference on the 29th in the conference room of the Korean Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, to file a complaint about the forced harassment of 143 Lee.

Ga-eun's mother will attend the press conference to explain the details of the forced harassment and demand an official apology from 143 side and the removal of the perpetrator.

The center said "The victim's intention to continue his activities in the incident was also canceled due to the unilateral withdrawal of 143. Although 143's unreasonable and unjust action caused enormous damage to the victim and was no longer able to maintain an exclusive contract, 143 rather claims the victim's fault" he said.

Ga-eun posted a handwritten letter on SNS and confessed her first feelings after leaving the team.

Ga-eun "I was very afraid and needed great courage to make my voice heard in a world full of recordings and untrue stories that I didn't even know existed through broadcasting. The path of being an idol was not just a job for me, but a dream and a part of my life that I had longed for since childhood. Every moment on stage, eye contact with fans, sweat and tears in the practice room were all precious memories to me," he said.

Then "But the difficulties were repeated enough to cover up such memories. I had to continue to suffer unwanted situations, incomprehensible unfair treatment, and unexpected disadvantages, but I never thought I wanted to give up my dream. I wanted to hang in there until the end. I was afraid that my dream of becoming an idol would end, so I put up with it again and again."

Also "After the broadcast, I first heard about my withdrawal from the team through an article. The day when I had to leave suddenly without giving any explanation or greeting to my fans remains a deep wound to me. I was very upset, and I felt unfair. It's a dream I've been drawing with all my heart throughout my school days, so I won't avoid it anymore, and I'll be honest about my heart and what's been going on. There are still a lot of shortcomings and I'm not good at it, but I'll approach you with all my heart.Thank you so much for waiting and trusting me so far. I'm sorry to have worried you."

Meanwhile, JTBC 'Case Team Leader' reported on November 22 last year that a multinational girl group member who debuted in September 2024 was sexually harassed by the CEO of the agency. As a result, it was speculated that the victim was Ga-eun, and 143 said, "We inform you that there was no sexual contact between the member and the representative mentioned in the broadcast by any sexual harassment or other force, and the report is not true.", he denied.
