Dokdo recently appeared in an entertainment program released on Netflix and has become a big topic online.

In the 6th episode of 'Daehwanjang Gianjang', which was released on the 15th, a father and son went on a tour of Dokdo with the Korean flag, and not only in Korean but also in English and Japanese, 'Dokdo' is written as it is.

It is written as 'Dokdo' in Korean and 'DOKDO' in English, and in Japanese subtitles, the Japanese tone difference of Dokdo, 'Tokudo(ドクト)' is added.

"Daehwanjang Gianjang" is a new concept guest house variety that Gian84 and global stars BTS Jin and actress Ji Ye-eun perform with guests at Ulleungdo Gianjang.

From the 7th to the 13th, 'Dae-Jang-Gi-Jang' has received 2 million views, ranking 6th in the non-English category of the top 10 global TV shows.

Netflix was criticized for labeling 'Donghae' as 'Sea of Japan' in its subtitles, and 'Kimchi' as 'Pao Chai' (泡菜), a Chinese vegetable pickle.

Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University emphasized that "the accurate notation of Dokdo is welcome. It is only we can film Dokdo directly on Dokdo and show Dokdo to global viewers through global OTT.".

In particular, Professor Seo added, `We need to firmly respond to Japan's insistence on Dokdo and further strengthen the promotion of Dokdo around the world using cultural contents such as entertainment, dramas, and movies.'
