MBC officially admitted the harassment for the first time in eight months of the death of the late Oyoanna weatherman and apologized to the bereaved family. The Ministry of Employment and Labor conducted a special labor supervision for MBC for about three months from February and finally concluded that there was a robbing force against Oyoanna. However, it was judged that it was difficult to punish those involved because it was difficult for the deceased to be recognized as a 'worker' under the Labor Standards Act.




In response, Jang Yeon-mi, the mother of the deceased, said "It doesn't make sense. He strongly protested, saying, "How can you not be a worker?"

The Ministry of Employment and Labor recognized 25 people as workers through a separate survey of MBC freelancers, uncovered a total of six violations of labor-related laws and imposed a fine of 15 million won on MBC.
