On the 13th, the 51st Civil Affairs Department of the Seoul Southern District Court ruled in favor of Kim in a lawsuit filed by Kim against his former agency Arang Entertainment CEO A to suspend the validity of the exclusive contract.
The court admitted that Kim So-yu's alleged omission of the former agency's settlement, unauthorized contracts for portrait rights, and non-compliance with the contractual explanation obligations. The trust relationship between the contracting parties was broken due to reasons attributable to the agency, and the ruling was made as such, saying that it is no longer possible to maintain a normal exclusive contract relationship.
Kim So-yu's legal representative, Kim Tae-yeon, a lawyer at Taeyeon Law Office, said, `It seems that the court has carefully examined the matter and judged it.' `Even in the original case, a meaningful judgment can be expected based on the decision of provisional injunction.'
In December last year, Kim So-yu filed an injunction against the former CEO of Arang Entertainment for suspension of the validity of the exclusive contract, citing unauthorized contracts for portrait rights and omission of settlement.
