An official from Lee Sang-yong's agency E-Made told Sports Chosun on the 9th that `Lee Sang-yong died today.'
According to the agency, Lee Sang-yong suddenly collapsed on his way home after receiving medical treatment at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital due to a cold, and was rushed to the hospital, but died.
An agency official said "The empty house has not yet been prepared, and it is expected to be set up at the funeral hall of Seoul St. Mary's Hospital tomorrow."
Lee Sang-yong, who was born in 1944, made his broadcasting debut as an MC for CBS Christian Broadcasting in 1971.He made his face known by appearing as an assistant MC on MBC 'Enjoying Cheongbaekjeon' in 1973, and was loved by the whole nation in KBS 'Let's Gather and Sing' in 1975. Since then, he has been a host of MBC's military entertainment program 'Friendship Stage', which aired from 1989 to 1997.
