5 Billion Donations Shot By BTS Suga, ARMY Got It...200 million donation relays in one day alone

ARMY (official fan club) responded to the group BTS Suga's good deed.

Severance Hospital announced at 9 a.m. on the 24th that donations to the general public of 'Min Yoongi Treatment Center' exceeded 200 million won.

Suga held a groundbreaking ceremony for a specialized treatment center for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder 'Min Yoongi Treatment Center' at Severance Hospital on the 23rd.

Suga donated 5 billion won for the establishment of the center and the treatment of children and adolescents. This donation is the largest of the artist donations in the entire Yonsei Medical Center. It is the highest amount ever in Korea for a single donation on entertainment day.

Suga added warmth to the fact that he developed a music therapy program with Professor Chun Geun-ah, an authority in the field of pediatric psychiatry, for about seven months, and even donated talent by meeting children in person and teaching them how to play musical instruments on weekends.

Suga has consistently donated 100 million won to the Children's Cancer Foundation in 2019, 100 million won to the COVID-19 Damage Recovery Fund in 2020, 100 million won to treat children with cancer patients at Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital in 2021, 100 million won to recover from forest fires in 2022, 100 million won to recover from earthquake damage in Turkiye in 2023, and 100 million won to recover from forest fires.

ARMY responded to Suga's sincerity. ARMYs started a donation relay through SNS. They continued to inquire about donations to Yonsei Medical Center, and Yonsei Medical Center opened a regular sponsorship section for Min Yoon-ki's treatment center. Since then, ARMYs have voluntarily donated power generation funds to the 「Min Yoongi Treatment Center」 and are conducting a certification relay. As a result, the regular sponsorship of Min Yoon-ki's treatment center handed over 100 million won in six hours and 30 minutes of opening and 200 million won in a day. Yonsei Medical Center will also open a remittance channel for overseas fans in the future. If that happens, the amount of donations is expected to increase significantly.

Suga's 'Min Yoongi Treatment Center' aims to be completed in September. BTS completed its military service as Suga was relieved of his call-up from the social service personnel on the 21st. They are preparing for a full comeback in the second half of the year.
