Jun 26, 2025
'5 billion donation'BTS SUGA, another story..."Volunteer activities with identity hidden, never being late" The story of the group BTS, Suga, has been delivered.
On the 25th, a behind-the-scenes video related to the 「Min Yoongi Treatment Center" was released on the official YouTube channel of Severance Hospital.
Suga recently donated 5 billion won to Severance Hospital to build a treatment center for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. In this video, Professor Chun Geun-ah of Pediatric Psychiatry at Severance Hospital told the behind-the-scenes story of the huge donation.
According to Professor Chun, Suga wanted to donate music talent in November last year"I visited Professor Chun in person. He directly participated in the development of 'MIND', a program for children's emotional recovery and social improvement. At the time, Suga was serving as an alternative social service worker, but he used the weekend to meet the children and teach music. Without revealing that he is a member of the BTS, he approached the children as a human Min Yoon-ki, played music, and taught them how to play musical instruments.
Professor Chun has read a large portion of the 500-page textbook I wrote at my first meeting. They asked about suicide as the cause of death for teenagers. Hearing that he couldn't look away, this person felt that he meant it. I was rather solemn when I watched him come earlier than anyone else without being late, practice guitar, and try to meet the children's eye level. Suga looked genuinely happy and all the healers were touched."
Min Yoongi Treatment Center is scheduled to be completed in September.
Suga said through his agency, "'Through the program preparation and volunteer work with Professor Chun Geun-ah over the past seven months, I deeply felt that music can be a valuable channel for expressing one's heart and communicating with the world.'"Sugar said.'It was a great appreciation and happiness to be able to be with children with autism spectrum disorder, and we will continue to support more children as members of our society.'
BTS, where Suga belongs, is preparing for a full comeback in the second half of the year as all members have completed their military service.
