An employee of the Busan International Film Festival, who had sex hidden camera, was sentenced to three years in prison

Prosecutors have asked for a prison sentence for a boss who was put on trial for illegally filming the body of a female employee at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

Recently, Judge Huh Sung-min of the Busan District Court held a final hearing on a man in his 40s accused of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (filming using cameras).

The prosecution demanded a three-year prison term for A on the same day. He also asked the court to sentence him to complete a sexual violence treatment program and restrict employment in welfare facilities for children, adolescents and the disabled for five years.

A, a BIFF employee, was accused of secretly filming a video of sexual intercourse with a woman in her 30s, B, who worked as a short-term contract worker in July 2023 on a mobile phone set up at a table next to her bed. In April of the same year, A was also put on trial for secretly taking several photos of him having sex with B on his mobile phone. A admitted the prosecution, and victim B expressed his intention to punish A severely.

The Korean Film Gender Equality Center, run by the Women's Film Artists Association, has received the case and is supporting criminal civil lawsuits through the cooperation of advisory lawyers.

Meanwhile, the trial of the case is scheduled to be sentenced on July 3.
