BH, VAST, and Awesome Ent...Kakao Entertainment Holds 2nd Actors Audition



Kakao Entertainment (CEO Kwon Ki-soo and Jang Yoon-joong) will hold an integrated new actor discovery project called 『Kakao Entertainment Actors Audition" with six management labels. Following the first audition in 2019, it is the second large-scale audition in five years to begin a full-fledged journey to find the next generation of rookies who will be active on the global stage.

The audition will feature six leading labels of Kakao Entertainment, BH Entertainment, VAST Entertainment, Management Forest, Awesome ENT, J-Wide Company, and King Kong by Starship, and anyone born between 2000 and 2010 can apply. Applications will be held through the official website of Kakao Entertainment's audition until July 11.

The screening consists of the first online screening, including documents and free acting videos, followed by the second and third offline acting tests. The working-level staff of each management label, as well as industry-famous directors and writers, will participate as judges to add high professionalism and reliability. The final successful candidate will sign an exclusive contract with one of the six companies and begin his career as a new actor.




The audition slogan is 'Beginning of acting, your first TAKE'. It means supporting the first step of aspiring actors and supporting practical growth. In particular, participants who entered the third audition will be provided with professional profile shots, acting training, and interviews with working-level staff. Participants can appeal their individuality and charm to industry officials and fans, and they will also be given the opportunity to communicate with prospective fan bases through Kakao Entertainment's global K-culture platform 'Berriz'.

Kakao Entertainment is determined to prove the possibility of finding another new actor in Korea through this audition. Earlier, at the first integrated audition in 2019, a number of newcomers, including actor Joo Jong-hyuk (from BH Entertainment), who played in dramas 'Weird Lawyer Woo Young-woo' and movies 'There's No Secret', stood out and attracted attention.

An official from Kakao Entertainment said, `This audition is a journey to draw together the future of the K content industry beyond simple discovery,' adding, `We hope global talents with passion and potential will challenge us. We will continue to expand the competitiveness of K contents with new actors as well as next-generation directors and writers," he said.
