'I didn't pay 58 million won' Instructor Cho Jung-sik denies all allegations of item trade with teacher
Instructor Cho Jung-sik denied all allegations of question trading, saying they were groundless.

Choi Bong-kyun and Jung Sung-yeop, lawyers for Pyeongan, a law firm that served as legal representatives for instructor Cho Jung-sik, made an official statement on the afternoon of the 11th, saying, `In recent media reports, the contents related to instructor Cho Jung-sik include parts that are different from the facts. As a result, the honor and social credibility of the instructor have been seriously undermined.'"The instructor Cho Jung-sik and our lawyers are confident that all charges currently sent to the prosecution are innocent. There is no fact that Cho Jung-sik directly paid 58 million won to the teacher involved in the incident"I strongly countered.

In addition, Cho Jung-sik added that the case is currently being strictly investigated by the investigative agency, and the final judgment on the facts will be clarified through future investigation results.

Earlier, Sherlock, a truth exploration group, raised suspicions that instructor Cho Jung-sik had engaged in question deals with 21 incumbent teachers. According to Sherlock reports, Cho Jung-sik has been trading questions with current teachers, including EBS SAT textbook writers and former SAT and mock evaluation reviewers, and in particular, one teacher sold questions to 11 academies, including Cho Jung-sik, for five years from 2021 to 2023 and received about 238 million won. Of these, Cho Jung-sik reportedly paid 58 million won.

Sherlock then cited the Board of Audit and Inspection's report and claimed that Cho Jung-sik admitted the item transaction and was sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the anti-graft law and obstructing business on the 17th of last month.

Meanwhile, Cho Jung-sik is known as an English instructor and is appearing in seasons 1 and 2 of Channel A 'Please Take Care of Your Grades: Teachers'.

Hello, I'm Choi Bong-gyun and Jung Sung-yeop, a lawyer from Pyeongan Law Firm.

As the legal representative of Cho Jung-sik, we make an official statement on the recently reported matter.

The recent report by a media outlet on Cho Jung-sik's instructor includes a different part from the truth, which is causing serious damage to the reputation and social trust of the instructor. Instructor Cho Jung-sik and our lawyers are confident that it is clear that all charges currently sent to the prosecution are 'not guilty', and instructor Cho Jung-sik has never paid KRW 58 million directly to the teacher in question.

The case is currently undergoing strict investigation procedures by the investigative agency, and the judgment on the facts will be clarified through future investigation results.

In addition, we are very sorry that anything that is different from the current facts is being circulated indiscriminately without confirmation, and make it clear that we will take all possible legal measures in civil and criminal cases against spreading false facts or defaming them.

Thank you.
