Shin Sae-kyeong's agency, The Present Company, said in an official statement on the 26th that `The prosecution demanded two years in prison for the accused who was accused of continuous cyberbullying against actor Shin Sae-kyeong.'
According to the agency, the defendant repeated threats, malicious slander, dissemination of false information, and insulting words and actions against the actor himself, as well as his fans, family, and acquaintances, anonymously through an online platform over a long period of time. As a result, not only the actors but also those around them were seriously hurt, and the defendant is currently facing a first trial decision after being arrested by the police. This is an unusual move for malicious comments.
The Present Company said "We have a number of additional malicious posts and malicious commenter-related evidence and will respond to similar cases on the same basis in the future."
During the trial, the defendant's legal representative is currently working 14 hours a week, hoping that the defendant, who has been hiding, will return to society," he said, appealing for leniency. The defendant is also said to have stated "All charges are admitted". In response, the prosecution demanded a two-year prison term in consideration of repeated threats and the level of malicious comments.
The agency said, "We place the highest priority on the protection of the legal rights and interests of our artists and employees and will not consider any leniency against the perpetrators" and added, "We will take all legal measures to respond strongly and firmly in the event of similar acts in the future." In order not to repeat the suffering of many innocent people due to someone's distorted desire, the perpetrator under the principle of law and justice must be held responsible accordingly no matter how long it takes, and did not forget the words of gratitude, saying, "The precious information from the fans was a great help."
