Transfer Dating 2 Kim Tae-yi is sentenced to prison for drunk driving...The appeal for leniency did not work

Actor Kim Tae-yi, who made his face known by appearing on the reality entertainment show 「Transfer Love 2」, was sentenced to a suspended prison sentence in the first trial for injuring pedestrians by drunk driving.

On the 12th, Senior Judge Jang Sung-jin of the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Kim, who was charged with dangerous driving injuries under the Specific Crime Aggravated Punishment Act, to one year and four months in prison and two years of probation. He also ordered 120 hours of community service and 40 hours of compliance driving lectures.

The court heard that "Kim caused real casualties while driving on a road with many pedestrians while drunk."The blood alcohol concentration level is high, and he even made a false statement to hide the driving fact.", he pointed out.

Kim made a false statement to the police immediately after the accident, but the court partially reflected it in the sentencing, emphasizing that he has since confessed himself and made efforts to prevent recidivism such as drinking alcohol and using public transportation.

In his closing argument, Kim said, `I will live with self-reflection for the rest of my life so that this will never happen again," he said, appealing for leniency. His lawyer stressed that it was an accidental situation, saying, `I moved the vehicle for a while at the request of a parking agent while waiting for a proxy driver.'

However, the victim refused Kim's criminal deposit (5 million won) and pleaded for severe punishment. The victim was reportedly injured for two weeks.

A (30), who falsely stated that he drove instead of Kim in connection with the case, was fined 4 million won.

Kim Tae-yi, who debuted in a play in 2016, appeared in dramas 'Hospitality' and 'Empress' Dignity' and received public attention through his 2022 'Transfer Love2'.
