Yoo Ah-in to Receive Supreme Court Verdict on Drug Charges July 3

According to the legal community on the 17th, the first division of the Supreme Court (Chief Justice Ma Yong-joo) will sentence Yoo Ah-in to a conclusion on charges such as habitual drug use at 10:10 a.m. on July 3. The case was filed with the Supreme Court on March 12, and the Supreme Court allocated the case to one of the subcontracts, the first part, on April 17 and conducted a legal review for nearly two months.
Yoo Ah-in was indicted without detention in October 2023 on charges of 181 doses of propofol between September 2020 and March 2022, and of illegally prescribing sleeping pills 44 times in the name of another person between May 2021 and August 2022. In January 2022, he was accused of smoking hemp in the U.S. and teaching his acquaintances to smoke hemp, and being investigated by the police on drug charges, teaching the destruction of evidence and urging a YouTuber who told the police about his marijuana smoking to reverse his statement.
In response, the first trial sentenced Yoo Ah-in to one year in prison and a fine of 2 million won on September 3 last year and arrested him in court. The court pleaded guilty to smoking marijuana by infants, taking habitual medical drugs, and buying habitually in other people's names, but found the charges of smoking marijuana teachers and destroying evidence not guilty. Yoo Ah-in and the prosecution appealed against the ruling of the first trial.
Yoo Ah-in was sentenced to one year in prison, two years of probation, and a fine of 2 million won in the second trial held on February 18, and was released five months after being imprisoned in the Seoul Detention Center.
In the meantime, two films starring Yoo Ah-in were released. 'Victory' and 'High Five' met the audience in the theater without Yoo Ah-in's editing.
