CL Reportedly Meets YG’s Yang Hyun-suk to Discuss 2NE1's Future

Group 2NE1 CL met YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-suk.

According to multiple K-pop officials, CL recently had a meeting with Yang Hyun-suk. It is known that the two had an in-depth conversation about the future direction of 2NE1's activities. According to officials, CL has often met with Yang Hyun-seok since the 2NE1 reunion last year and talked about personal areas as well as team activities.

2NE1 debuted in 2009 with 'Fire', and released countless hit songs such as 'I'm the Best'Comeback Home'I Don't Care'In the Club'Lonely' to be recognized for its unrivaled music view and ability. However, the team was suddenly disbanded in 2016, and CL and Minji Minjee were controversial for saying that they "knew the 2NE1 dissolution from the article".

Then, 2NE1 reunited to celebrate its 15th anniversary last year and welcomed fans. They demonstrated their continued presence with the 'Welcome Back' tour. Starting with the Seoul performance in October 2024, all 27 performances held in 12 cities in 11 countries until April were sold out.

Since then, 2NE1 has been conducting 'separately and together' activities. YG has conducted the full group activities, but they are coordinating the schedule through consultation as their respective agencies have changed. In fact, at the festival performance in Los Angeles last month, Park Bom was absent and staged as a trio. However, at the 'Water Bomb Bali 2025" held in Bali, Indonesia, on September 6 and 7, it will be a four-member group.

In the meantime, attention is being paid to what changes will happen to 2NE1 activities in the future as CL was confirmed to have met with Yang Hyun-seok.

Regarding this, YG said, "It's hard to confirm because it's a personal meeting," he declined to say.
