It has been reported that singer Joo Hak-nyeon, a former member of the group THE BOYZ, has been dismissed by the police on charges of prostitution.

The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul said on the 2nd that Ju Hak-nyeon was accused of violating the law on the punishment of sex trafficking and other acts.

The police explained that the charges are merely speculative claims based on Internet articles, and there is a lack of specific circumstances to open an investigation.

Earlier on June 18, a media outlet reported that Ju Hak-nyeon had a drinking party with an AV actor at a private bar in Tokyo, Japan, and later spent the night and handed over the money.

After this report, another media also reported additional suspicions, expanding the suspicion of prostitution.

As the controversy grew, Wonhundred, the agency, issued an official position and immediately suspended activities recognizing the seriousness of privacy issues, and decided to withdraw Ju Hak-nyeon from the team and terminate the exclusive contract because it was difficult to continue trust as an artist" he said.

In response, Ju Hak-nyeon said on his SNS, "It is true that he was at a drinking party with an acquaintance in the early morning of May 30, 2025, but there were no illegal acts such as prostitution mentioned in the article or rumor"I'm deeply reflecting on myself. I am sorry for the trouble caused."

Meanwhile, Ju Hak-nyeon is currently withdrawn from the team, and plans for future entertainment activities are not yet known.
