BTS Becomes Only K-pop Act in Apple Music’s Global Top 500 of the Decade

Group BTS proved its global influence once again.

On the 7th, Apple Music, a global music streaming service, released 500 songs that have been played the most on its platform around the world over the past decade. BTS showed off its potential by charting two songs: 'Dynamite' (34th) and 'Butter' (252nd). BTS is the only K-pop group on the chart.

Released in 2020, 'Dynamite' is BTS's first English song since its debut. It's a bright and cheerful disco pop, a combination of addictive rhythms and delightful and dynamic performances. They comforted many people with the song, which contains a message of hope when the world is experiencing a difficult time due to COVID-19.

The BTS was 'Dynamite', the first Korean singer to top the US Billboard main song chart 'Hot 100' and remained at the top for three weeks. The song also won the "2020 MTV European Music Awards" and the "2021 Billboard Music Awards" and the "Top Selling Song" trophy. BTS was nominated for the Grammy Awards, one of the world's top three popular music awards, and set a milestone in the streaming section of the Japan Record Association, receiving the shortest diamond certification (more than 500 million times).

'Butter', which was introduced in 2021, also recorded monumental achievements. The song has been at the top of 'Hot 100' for a total of 10 weeks, drawing the world's attention. It also performed well at several award ceremonies, including being selected as the Favorite Pop Song of the '2021 American Music Awards' and the 'Top Selling Song of the '2022 Billboard Music Awards'. BTS was nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards for "Butter" and was nominated for the second consecutive year after "Dynamite".

BTS will release the live performance album 'PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LIVE' at 1 p.m. on the 18th. This is BTS's first live album. Among the performances on the tour of the same name from 2021 to 2022, 22 songs including 'ON', 'FIRE', 'Dope', and 'IDOL' were carefully selected and included.
