BTS Suga to Co-Invest in Oakland Athletics Alongside Park Chan-ho



Park Chan-ho and BTS Suga will be shareholders of the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB) club Oakland Athletics.

According to the investment banking industry on the 4th, a consortium led by Park Chan-ho's sports management company Team 61 will invest about $70 million (about 95.5 billion won) in the Athletics club. The funds will be invested in the relocation of the club's home base and the construction of a new home stadium.

Along with Park Chan-ho, BTS member Suga is also known to participate in the consortium. It plans to acquire new shares issued by Athletics in the form of a private equity fund to secure a stake of about 2 to 3%. Currently, it is waiting for official approval from the Major League Baseball Secretariat.




Athletics is a traditional professional baseball team based in Oakland, California. It belongs to the American League Western Division of Major League Baseball. It is also famous for the film 'Moneyball' and is widely known for its data-driven operation.

As all BTS members have completed their military service, the possibility of collaboration between BTS and Athletics is also expected with this investment.
