Band FT Island Choi Min-hwan will resume his domestic activities a year after he suspended his activities due to privacy controversy.

On June 30, FNC Entertainment, the agency, announced FT Island's concert and Choi Min-hwan's return.

FT Island will hold the '2025 FT Island Live - Mad Happy' at the Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul from August 23 to 24. The agency said, "Lee Hong-ki, Lee Jae-jin, and Choi Min-hwan will participate in this performance. Please refer to it when booking."




Choi Min-hwan married Yul-hee from La Boom in 2018 and had three siblings, but divorced in 2023. The custody and parental rights of the children were taken by Choi Min-hwan. However, Yulhee released the transcript last year, claiming that Choi Min-hwan entered an entertainment establishment during his marriage and molested him in front of his parents-in-law. The released transcript contained a conversation between Choi Min-hwan and an official at an entertainment establishment, which was controversial as circumstantial evidence suspected of prostitution.

Choi Min-hwan was accused of prostitution and forced harassment, but the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul ruled in February that he was not guilty of violating the Prostitution Punishment Act and charges of forced harassment due to insufficient evidence.

Choi Min-hwan resumed his overseas activities, starting with a performance in Japan in March.




In response, Lee Hong-ki said, `In Korea, we will work as two people and overseas as three people.' `There are many people who are uncomfortable in Korea. If there are many uncomfortable people, I will reflect on them more. I will reflect on myself more and scold you, and one day I will come back as a three-person member in Korea. FT Island needs a drummer. If it was really wrong, I would have taken a different path, but I decided it wasn't."

Yulhee received an application for mediation against Choi Min-hwan to divide his property, claim alimony, and change the permanent resident. In response, Choi Min-hwan countered that the reason for his divorce from Yul-hee was not because of his entry into his business, but because of Yul-hee's abnormal lifestyle and frequent runaway. In the end, the mediation broke down and the two are facing a lawsuit.
