‘Golden’ From 'K-pop Demon Hunters' Soars to No. 2 on Billboard Hot 100

The Netflix animation 'K-pop Demon Hunters (hereinafter referred to as K-Pop)' OST also exploded.

According to Billboard on the 28th (local time), OST 'Golden' sung by the girl group Huntrix in 'Kedeheon' ranked second on the Billboard main single chart 'Hot100'. This is the result of jumping two places from last week's (fourth place) and its own record.

'Golden' has been on the rise every week since debuting 'Hot100' at 81st earlier this month, ranking 23rd, 6th, 4th and 2nd.

'Hot100' calculates the ranking by combining streaming data, airplay, and sales data.

'Golden' topped the streaming songs chart for the first time, with 25.7 million streams, up 12% from last week. The radio broadcast score increased 109 percent to 3.7 million, making its debut at 35th place on the pop airplay chart. In addition, it also recaptured the top spot in both 'Global 200' and 'Global (excluding the United States).'

The OST album with 'Golden' was ranked third on the Billboard main album chart 'Billboards 200', up two spots from last week's (5th place). Weekly album sales reached 89,000 copies, setting its own new record.

This reverse of 'Golden' is of extraordinary significance. This is because all the actual singers who sang the song are Korean-Americans.

Lee Jae, who plays the role of Rumi, is a former SM Entertainment trainee and is famous in Korea as the composer of Red Velvet "Psycho" and the maternal granddaughter of actor Shin Young-kyun.

Audrey, who plays Mira, will participate in the '2025 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival' in August, and Ray Ami, who sang Joy's part, is also recognized as a rapper and singer-songwriter.

Kedeheon is a story about Huntrix, a K-pop girl group exorcist, defeating Lion Boys, a K-pop boy band evil spirit. It is the first overseas animation based on K-pop idols and is well received for showing a high understanding of Korean culture and K-pop. In particular, many actual K-pop producers participated in OST to make good use of the K-pop style.

The Lion Boyz was voiced by Andrew Choi, who is currently working as a producer and composer of SM Entertainment, Danny Jung, producer of The Black Label, Kevin Woo from U-Kiss, Neckwave from Zero X, and Seventeen Rise, and the title song Take Down was sung by TWICE Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung.
