The play 'Rosetta' is a work depicting his life and philosophy based on the diary of Rosetta Sherwood Hall, who pioneered modern Korean medical care and education. Rosetta, who came to Joseon from the United States in 1880, devoted herself to Joseon women who were in the blind spot of medical care and education, confronting discrimination and prejudice of the times such as nationality, language, class, and gender. In 1894, the opening of the nation's first blind school, Pyongyang Women's Blind School, and a women's treatment center 'Gwanghyeyeowon', left a meaningful footprint in Korea's modern history.
This work is an experimental play in the form of an ensemble in which all actors play Rosetta, unraveling the multi-layered inner and timeless messages of Rosetta in three dimensions.
Kim Sung-ryeong, who has been active in the drama 「Please Look After This Week」 until recently, is an actor recognized for his outstanding acting skills, and he will add his own deep sensibility to the 'Good Influence' symbolized by Rosetta to give the audience a new impression.
Kim Sung-ryeong's performance of the play 'Rozeta', which will greet the audience with a different face, will be presented at the Myeongdong Arts Theater in Seoul from the 23rd to the 31st and at the Busan Cinema Center on September 5 and 6. In particular, this work was selected as an invitation to the Besseto Festival in Tottori Prefecture, Japan, and will meet overseas audiences at the Dorigin Cultural Center in Japan on September 27 and 28.
