Actor Kwon Oh-joong confessed his sincerity toward his family, citing 'Curing his son's rare disease' as his top priority in life.

In a recent interview with the Gyeonggi Ilbo, Kwon Oh-joong candidly revealed the reasons for his hiatus over the past four to five years and his son's recent status. "I've been off since 2020, and I'm preparing to return to work again since the end of last year," he said. "After COVID-19, my family has become very difficult. It's never easy to live as a family of celebrities."

"My wife is a very healthy and forward-looking person, and after enduring all this time, the whole family got tired." "So I decided to stop drinking, which I liked, and go all-in to my family. We are much more harmonious now."




Kwon Oh-joong's son is currently suffering from a rare disease and is developing his dream of becoming an actor. "My son is learning to act, and he's working in an agency with young people with the same disease," he said. "He likes to stand in front of the camera. I think it's because I've been taking him to the set a lot since he was young."

He also filmed the video he practiced and posted it on YouTube, and his son is happy to see if he has a sense of accomplishment"When I hold up the camera, he acts like a scary senior or director, so my son doesn't like me taking pictures."

As for the ultimate goal of life, he said, `There is no cure yet for my son's disease. There are only a few people in the world, so no cure has been developed"I hope that the medicine will come out while I am alive" he said sincerely. "As an actor, I want to become an actor who is evaluated as being comfortable if Kwon Oh-joong does it regardless of the role weight even when I get older."," he added.




Earlier in January, Kwon Oh-joong said, "Channel A 'Best Friend Talk Documentary?He appeared with his best friend Shin Hyun-joon at the 'Dining Table for Four' and revealed his son's illness in detail for the first time.

He said "My son graduated from college in 2023. I thought high school would be the last, but I applied to several places because I really wanted to go to college, but I failed. In the end, my wife applied to a university with a disability screening and passed the application,' he explained.

There was also a view that my son should be sent to work, but he said "My child has physical and intellectual disabilities together. He said, "I liked painting and was interested in acting, so I took acting classes, and I joined the same agency (Park Young-gyu)."




The disease that Kwon Oh-joong's son suffers from is extremely rare developmental disorder, with only one person in Korea and only 15 people worldwide.
