Park Ji-yeon had kidney problems due to pregnancy poisoning when she was pregnant with her second son in 2011 and later received a kidney transplant from her mother's father. He continued to receive kidney dialysis treatment, but failed to recover, so he underwent kidney re-transplantation by his brother. In response, Park Ji-yeon said, "Thank you so much for your warm support and prayers. If there is no abnormality in the final examination, I think I will receive a second kidney transplant around the middle of next month. I'll overcome it with a bright heart" he said.

Meanwhile, Lee Soo-geun married Park Ji-yeon, a former stylist 12 years younger, in 2008 and had two sons.
