On the 3rd, the Supreme Court's first division (Chief Justice Ma Yong-joo) confirmed the original ruling, which sentenced Yoo Ah-in to one year in prison, two years of probation, and a fine of 2 million won.
Yoo Ah-in was charged with administering propofol and other medical drugs 181 times for cosmetic procedures at hospitals in Seoul from September 2020 to January 2023. Medications administered include midazolam, ketamine, and remimazolam, including about 9,600 ml of propofol.
Separately, he was also accused of illegally prescribing sleeping pills in the name of another person and forcing an acquaintance to smoke after smoking hemp in Los Angeles, USA.
The first trial sentenced Yoo Ah-in to one year in prison and arrested him in court, but the second trial court commuted his sentence to probation, citing that he was recovering from drug dependence and reflecting on himself, and the Supreme Court ruling confirmed the sentence.
An acquaintance artist Choi (34), who was also indicted, was also sentenced to eight months in prison and suspended for two years.
