Hive America announced on the 23rd (Korea time) that it will produce a K-pop-themed film with Paramount Pictures, a leading American film production company.

The film will tell the story of a Korean-American girl who participates in an audition TV program to become the next K-pop girl group despite her family's opposition, and the name of the film is undecided. Yoo Ji-young, who played Huntrix's youngest child 'Joy' in the Netflix animated film 'KPop Demon Hunters', and Eric Nam, who played a surgical resident 'Yona Yoon' in the Hollywood film 'Transplant' released last year, were cast as the main characters.

The movie is scheduled to begin filming in Korea in mid-September this year, with the aim of releasing it in theaters on February 12, 2027. This is the first film to be filmed in Korea among major Hollywood filmmakers in the U.S.

Benson Lee takes the megaphone, and Eileen Sim wrote it. In addition, James Shin, president of Hive America's film and TV division, Arthur Spector and Joshua Davis of Epic Magazine, and Scooter Braun will participate in the production. Executive producers are Joshua Behrmann, John Zhaozirny and Scott Manson of Epic Magazine. Brian O, senior vice president of Paramount Pictures, will lead the entire project on behalf of the production company.
