According to a News 1 report earlier this day, the Yongin Dongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province sent Song Young-kyu to the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office without detention late last month on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (Drunk Driving). Song Young-gyu is accused of driving 5km from Giheung-gu to Cheoin-gu in Yongin City at 11 p.m. on the 19th of last month.
At that time, a witness reported "I suspect drunk driving", and the police who were dispatched to the scene identified Song Young-gyu's vehicle and arrested him. As a result of the alcohol consumption test, Song Young-gyu's blood alcohol concentration is known to correspond to the level of license cancellation.
Song Young-gyu is currently starring as pastor Yoon Se-hoon in the ENA Monday-Tuesday drama 'I Shopping' and will also appear in SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Tri: We Become a Miracle'. He also performed in the play Shakespeare in Love, which will be held at the Seoul Arts Center until September 14.
