Yoo Young-jae, a broadcaster who was put on trial for forcibly molesting actor Sunwoo Eun-sook's biological sister, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison at the appeal trial.

The Suwon High Court's Criminal Division 2-3 (Park Kwang-seo, Kim Min-ki, Kim Jong-woo, High Court Judge) sentenced Yoo Young-jae, who was charged with violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes, to the same sentence as the first trial, and rejected both Yoo Young-jae and the prosecution's appeals. The court ordered the completion of a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program and a five-year restriction on employment at institutions related to children, adolescents, and the disabled.

The court said "The defendant admitted the crime, reflected on it, and made two deposits to recover the damage, but the victim refused to receive the deposit and pleaded for severe punishment.""The crime of repeated harassment is bad when the initial victim of marriage stays to help with housework" he said.

Yoo Young-jae was indicted on charges of forcibly molesting the biological sister of his wife, Sunwoo Eun-sook, five times from March to October 2023. He denied the allegations in the first trial, but admitted all of the crimes and apologized at the appeal trial.

Yoo Young-jae married Sunwoo Eun-sook in 2022, but divorced in a year and a half. Sunwoo Eun-sook later filed a lawsuit to cancel the marriage, saying Yoo Young-jae hid his common-law relationship and got married, but the court rejected the suit, saying there was no reason for the divorce.
