Everglow, I'm sad to break up, but I lost my name to a rookie...the agency's official apology

The group Everglow even lost its team name.

On the 10th, Japanese new girl group Everglow was unveiled. Although the English notation is different from that of the Korean girl group EVERGLOW, controversy has been predicted as the pronunciation is the same. On top of that, the Japanese group Everglow used a ring shape similar to that of the Korean group Everglow in its logo, creating even greater criticism.

Due to continued resistance from fans, Shota Honma, the head of the agency, and Soichiro Yoshimura, the producer, issued an apology side by side on the 11th.

Honma Shota "We sincerely apologize for the great concern and inconvenience caused in relation to the new group. In the future, when deciding on a name and logo, we will make sure that the same situation does not recur after legal confirmation and verification by a third party" he said.

Yoshimura Soichiro "We sincerely apologize for causing inconvenience and concern to many people with the name and logo design used by our group. The word Everglow is something I have personally cherished and used frequently in my personal activities for about 10 years, and I adopted the same name at the start of this group. He explained that the logo design was similar to other designs as a result of making it reminiscent of the infinite mark in the 'Ever' part.

He didn't copy it intentionally. However, the lack of prior research and consideration for existing groups and fans caused this incident. Once again, I deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to many people. Currently, the use of the names and logos in question has been immediately stopped and new names and logos are being changed", he apologized.

Everglow made its debut in 2019 as a six-member group consisting of Yiu Si-hyun Mia Onda Asha Yorin, announcing 'Bongbong Chocolat'Adios'Dundun'Radida'. However, in the end, his exclusive contract with his agency Yuehua Entertainment ended in June without exceeding seven years.

Si-hyun and Oda said "The contract is terminated, but it is not dismantling", but the group took the final step of dismantling 'zombie', which was announced in June last year.
