Actor Kang Ji-seop confessed for the first time about the controversy over his involvement in the Christian Gospel Mission (JMS).

In the 30th anniversary of the foundation of MBN on the 11th, a consolation project 'Oh Eun-young Stay', Kang Ji-seop opened up about the religious involvement case.

On this day, Kang Ji-seop said, `I thought it was the right way, but it turned out it was the wrong way. He introduced himself, saying, `It is said that the Scarlet Letter\, which was branded out of ignorance.'

Kang was previously suspected of being a member of JMS after the 2023 Netflix original documentary 'I Am God: People Who God Betrayed' was released. It was belatedly known that Kang Ji-seop posted a congratulatory message on JMS President Chung Myung-seok's birthday in 2012 that he would become a mentor in his life on social media. In addition, his house was unveiled on tvN 'Free Doctor M', which aired in 2022, and suspicions were further amplified as a picture frame of Jesus related to JMS was captured inside.

As the controversy grew, Kang Ji-seop admitted that he was a member of JMS in the past. But "already out of school" he said. He "It was once a place where I wanted to pray with a really pure heart in hard times, and I thought it was a normal place. However, I left there because I felt a sense of alienation from the view of faith that I had originally thought of.'

In the broadcast on this day, Kang Ji-seop said, `I went there because I wanted to get a resting place in my heart, and I actually wanted to endure (the hard life in the entertainment industry) properly. I went there because I didn't want to meet the opposite sex or drink alcohol, but I didn't know it was such a place. "It's just unfair to me. I don't know why we were involved, and I thought maybe my acting career might end here,' he vented.

Kang Ji-seop, who first learned about JMS in 2000, said, `I was going to work part-time when I was a college student, and someone suggested me to work as a model behind the scenes. At that time, I was also putting pictures in the agency, so I thought it was related to a modeling agency. I met him a couple of times outside and he suddenly suggested me to study the Bible. Since I said I was studying, I went there a few times out of curiosity, but there was something strange from the beginning" he said.

He is not allowed to worship in the first place. He said that it is only possible to worship if you take about 30 education to worship. And I sing hymns with trot lyrics. I thought it was strange, but the reason I went was that people were pure and good. There were many Harvard University graduates and many elite believers, so I wanted to be great like these people rather than doubt. I never imagined it to be such a place."

Then "Then I stopped going out (with entertainment activities). Then, after the Netflix broadcast was released, the media dealt with it greatly, and the influence came to me. I thought it didn't matter because I hadn't attended for a long time, but the painting of the statue of Jesus caused controversy."

In response, Kang Ji-seop responded, "'It was a frame that I received as a gift from the organization, but it turned out that it was symbolically related to the owner of the church.'" "I left it in the dressing room to organize it because I no longer go around. If I had known the meaning, I would have thrown it away or disposed of it before filming."

Then, "Since the frame is large, I had to put a label on it and throw it away, but when I just put it out, they said something (due to procedural problems) and put it back in." Anyone could see that it was a picture frame of Jesus, so I didn't know it was related (to the priest). Why did this lead to that?" he expressed frustration.

Kang Ji-seop said, "'Isn't he having an affair with the priest?' and 'How many women did he bring?' It was so hard to hear that." He said " (at the time) even the head of the agency "Hang a sign around your neck that it's not you." After hearing that, I thought there was no one in the world to trust. At that time, he confessed that he had lost all connections with the people around him who had contacted him often at the time.

Also "When I woke up, I was afraid every time I opened my eyes. My heart sank. 'Why should I be misunderstood like this? Why do you have to be speculated by people?' I thought so. 'Can't I be in this world?I even came to think that " In particular, my sister and mother said they were worried that I would be bad-hearted because of this. Later, I thought it was my fault that I didn't know," he said, reflecting on himself.

He complained of unfairness several times at the time, but all of them were of no use. "At that time, I had to tear and burn (Jesus statue) the painting, but I tried to tear it, but the material of the painting was hard to tear. I got angry, so I crumpled the picture and posted it, and it caused a bigger stir. It's a lie. If you really throw it away, you should have burned it with fire or ripped it with scissors. I thought I couldn't say anything, so I decided to shut up"He confessed.

Kang Ji-seop, who is frustrated that he has nothing more to prove because he is not himself, tore the picture of the statue of Jesus himself on the show and said, `I hope there are no more victims like me," he said, expressing his earnest desire.
