Kang Hyo-min, played by Jung Chae-yeon, is a new lawyer from Seoul National University Law School who portrays the face of growing youth by colliding between ideals and reality.
In last weekend's broadcast, a sharp gaze shone in the legal review surrounding the Swiss euthanasia case. In addition to pointing out as a precedent that the defendant's accompanying could be equivalent to aiding and abetting suicide, he calmly presented the possibility of a reason for rejecting illegality, showing logical analysis. Chung Chae-yeon's unshakable tone and meticulous development showed the spirit and professionalism of the new lawyer at the same time.
In addition, Hyo-min showed another presence by appearing as a narrator of the play. She narrated Kwon Na-yeon (Kim Yeo-jin), Heo Min-jeong (Jeon Hye-bin), and Choi Eun-hee (Yoon Yoo-sun) by comparing them to "Wonder Woman" and quietly telling their stories. Jeong Chae-yeon's voice, which was conveyed lightly, created a new conclusion that penetrated the entire narrative of the play.
Jeong Chae-yeon was a sharp lawyer in court and a narrator who organized the play, naturally moving between the two roles and building a three-dimensional effect of the character. It solidified the existence of 'Kang Hyo-min' by convincingly solving the law with accurate vocalization and stable breathing, while also completing the narration in a light tone with lingering scent.
Through his different breathing and variations in each episode, he portrays the face of youth trying to find its place even in the midst of shaking, establishing himself as a key axis connecting events and character narratives. Kang Hyo-min's weight in the 'esquire' that Jung Chae-yeon builds makes us look forward to future developments.
Meanwhile, JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'esquire' starring Jeong Chae-yeon airs every Saturday at 10:40 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 p.m.
