Broadcaster Kim Byung-man ended his 10-year-long relationship with his ex-wife A's daughter B. In other words, a long legal dispute has ended in the face of remarriage.

Kim Byung-man's agency Sky Turtle also told Sports Chosun on the 8th that "(B's) immoral behavior due to innocence was recognized and the dismissal was cited."

The Seoul Family Court cited a lawsuit filed by Kim Byung-man against B on the same day. The court judged that B's act of immoral behavior due to innocence was recognized in connection with the assault complaint filed by his ex-wife in the past, and that the adoptive-parent relationship was extinguished.




The current civil law does not recognize dismissal by consultation, but only through trial is possible. In addition, the reasons for dismissal are strictly limited to two cases: ▲ cases in which both parents abuse or abandon their biological parents, or significantly harm their welfare; ▲ cases in which the relationship cannot be maintained due to immoral acts against both parents. This case is the latter case, and the court allowed the dissolution of the paternity relationship.

Kim Byung-man registered his marriage to a general woman A in 2011, and adopted his daughter B, whom A had with her ex-husband at the time, as his biological child. The marriage was not long. The couple had been separated since 2019, and their divorce was confirmed after a fierce court battle that continued until the Supreme Court ruling in 2023. Although the father-daughter relationship was legally maintained after the divorce, Kim Byung-man received a citation ruling in his third attempt after his dismissal request was rejected twice.

During the divorce process, his ex-wife A filed a lawsuit claiming that she was assaulted by Kim Byung-man, but the prosecution closed the case with an opinion of non-prosecution. Later, B said in the past that only Kim Byung-man was a good father, but changed his position and stated that he saw his mother being assaulted. Kim Byung-man explained that the core of this citation is that the court judged that the reversal of this statement constitutes false accusation.




With the ruling on the dismissal, Kim Byung-man has cleared up all legal relationships with B and officially made a fresh start with C. Kim Byung-man ended his long legal dispute with non-celebrity C on September 20, just over a month before remarrying, speeding up his new start.

In the process, it was revealed that he had two children with C, a bride-to-be, and drew attention. According to the agency, Kim Byung-man met and started a family with C, the current bride-to-be, after the breakdown of his marriage to A, and they have two children together.

TV Chosun 'Joseon Lover', which recently finished filming, plans to reveal the prospective wife and two children in the future.
