When he was pregnant with his second son, Taeseo, in 2011, he had kidney function problems due to pregnancy poisoning and received a kidney transplant from his mother's father. However, since then, his kidneys have not fully functioned, he has continued dialysis treatment, and in 2021, he was listed on the waiting list for brain-dead people for re-transplantation.

Recently, his brother is a kidney donor and is about to undergo a second kidney surgery in mid-August. In response, Park Ji-yeon responded, "If the final examination is not abnormal, I think I will receive a second kidney transplant sometime in the middle of next month"I'm still confused and cautious, but I'm trying to prepare well." he said.
