Action star Lee Yeon-gul (62), who led the heyday of Hong Kong movies in the 1990s, has revealed himself that he received hospital treatment, including "Hwang Bi-hong"Followers."

According to Chinese media outlets such as the Chinese Network, Lee Yeon-gul released a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed through his personal account on the 16th, saying, `I recently suffered an unexpected ordeal.'

Lee's confidant also extinguished fans' concerns by saying through local media that he had undergone surgery for a small benign tumor and is currently recovering.

Lee Yeon-gul was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in 2010, and her health was warned. At one point, health concerns were steadily raised, with rumors of death rising online.

However, Lee Yeon-gul recently announced her return to a martial arts movie after 14 years, drawing expectations from fans. Director Won Won-pyeong will direct the movie, "Pyo-in: The Wind-Eating Mocking" and co-star Ahn Jung-bong.

Meanwhile, Lee debuted in 1982 with the movie Shaolin Temple and established herself as an action star with 'Hwang Bi-hong', 'Unbeatable', 'Bodyguard'.

Since then, he has worked in Hollywood for the series "Romeo Must Die", "Kill Bill", and "Expendable".

He acquired U.S. citizenship in 1997 and changed his nationality to Singapore in 2009.
