On the 10th anniversary of their debut, the band DAY6 shed tears, recalling the past time when they endured a long period of obscurity and saw the light.

Day6 (Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon) appeared on tvN's entertainment show 『You Quiz on the Block』, which aired on the 10th, to share their honest stories. DAY6, which debuted on September 7, 2015 with 'Congratulations', attracted attention as JYP Entertainment's first band, and has recently enjoyed its second heyday with 'You Were Beautiful' and sold out all the tickets for its solo concert.

Three years after the band's debut, the members devoted themselves to musical instruments and composing. Eventually, Day6 moved on its own to raise awareness. "My goal was to debut at first, but when I debuted, there was nothing," Sung-jin said. "Let's look at it for a long time and do our best. I tried to get things done myself, take care of the people around me, and plant good awareness."

Since then, DAY6 has made 12 comebacks a year and released more than 25 self-composed songs, gradually making its name known. However, when it began to gain recognition, leader Sungjin declared a suspension of his activities, and the members' enlistment in the military led to a four-year hiatus.




The anxiety of the hiatus lingered deeply on all the members. Wonpil said "If you weren't anxious, you'd be lying" "But I held out with the belief that one day we'd get together again." Dowoon said "I didn't have anything to do while the brothers were resting. I didn't enjoy playing the drums as much as I used to. `I realized that I was happy to play drums in DAY6' he confessed.

Wonpil "It was so hard, but we kept 'We'll get together someday. DAY6 must go on. I can't help but not do this. We held on with the thought that 'what a waste of us ' recalled.

Young K is "I'm happiest right now. I feel like I'm living my dream now. I'm happy to do what I want to do, and to unfold and move on."
