An accident involving stage fireworks occurred during SEVENTEEN’s Incheon concert, prompting an official apology from their agency.
On the early morning of September 14, Pledis Entertainment released a statement via the fan community Weverse, saying, “During the finale of the ‘SEVENTEEN World Tour [NEW] in Incheon’ concert held on September 13, some of the special-effect fireworks unexpectedly fell toward the audience.”
The agency continued, “The stage effects had been installed with safety distances and directions set by professionals and repeatedly inspected prior to the concert. However, we have determined that the incident occurred due to defective products. We sincerely apologize to all the fans who were startled or inconvenienced by this sudden situation.”
Regarding injuries, Pledis explained, “Two audience members who sustained minor injuries were immediately treated at the venue’s first-aid station before returning home. We will actively support any further treatment needed to ensure their full recovery. To confirm whether there were any additional cases, we will be sending separate notices to attendees of the concert.”
They also promised preventive measures for future shows, stating, “For the September 14 concert, we will remove the faulty products and conduct stricter safety checks to ensure that no similar incident occurs.”
Finally, the agency added, “Once again, we deeply apologize for causing concern and discomfort. Moving forward, we will prioritize the safety of our audience above all else and strive to create a safer concert environment.”
SEVENTEEN, celebrating their 10th anniversary, held back-to-back concerts at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on September 13–14. They will continue their tour at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium on September 27–28 before heading to North America in October.
