At 9:50 a.m. on the 30th, the hearing of the 41st Division of Civil Agreement (Chief Judge Chung Hoe-il) at the Seoul Central District Court held a trial date for the validity of the exclusive contract filed by Adore against the five members of Newzins. In the absence of the New Jeans members, the court ruled in favor of the plaintiff, saying the exclusive contract between New Jeans and Adore was valid.
The court said "It is difficult to say that Adore violated the exclusive contract only by dismissing Min Hee-jin, former CEO of Adore. Min said, "We fought a public opinion campaign for independence, not for the purpose of protecting Newzins."
In November last year, Newzins declared its independent activities, saying that the exclusive contract was terminated due to the violation of the contract. In response, Adore filed an injunction against the members to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract, preserve the status of the agency, and prohibit the conclusion of advertising contracts.
The court accepted both Odor's request for provisional injunction and indirect coercion. Accordingly, the members declared the suspension of their activities and said they would prove their unfairness in the main lawsuit.
Regarding the exclusive contract dispute, the court tried to mediate twice in August and September, but the two sides finally failed to reach an agreement.
Audor offered a hand of reconciliation, saying that it invested tens of billions of won to support Newzins' activities and did not neglect its duties as an agency, such as settlement. However, Newzins held out that he could no longer be with Audor because his trust relationship broke down due to former representative Min's ouster.
