Kim Dong-sung, a former short track national team member, told about how he goes to work at the construction site every morning.

It is true that when I was a player, I made a lot of money. I lived a decent life, but after experiencing pain (divorce) once, I gave everything and came out. At that time, it became impossible to do anything. My current wife almost fed me, and I only got more debt."

Kim Dong-sung said, `I felt that I shouldn't live like this, so I even worked on the field. I haven't been able to go on the coach's path for a while, and I've been behind on child support. I have been working hard with my wife since early in the morning because it is my duty as a father of two children and I will carry it to the end. When my wife first dropped me off at the site, I didn't want to go, but I got used to it after working."

When the wife asked why Kim Dong-sung was sent to the construction site, "My husband was in a situation where he couldn't do anything. She cheered, saying, "My husband who can do this is much cooler than my husband who can't do anything." I felt uncomfortable, but I gave my husband courage and dropped him off at the scene," he said, adding that he didn't feel comfortable.




On the other hand, Kim Dong-sung drew attention by saying that he cannot receive a pension even though he is an Olympic medalist. "I think I have won more than 100 medals in the world competition, excluding domestic competitions," he said. He received a pension before winning a medal at the 1998 Nagano Olympics. After my first marriage, I applied for a program to send training to the Korean Sports Council, but I won. But I can't take the amount you applied for. I applied for a permanent residency because I heard that if I get a permanent residency, my tuition will become tremendously cheaper, but it came out right away in a few months. After that, I was contacted by the National Pension Service that if I received permanent residency, I would be disqualified from the pension. I didn't recognize this and proceeded hastily"I regret it.

Meanwhile, Kim Dong-sung married in 2004 and had one son and one daughter, but divorced in 2018. After that, I started a family with my current wife in 2021.

Recently, he was embroiled in a rumor for not paying more than 100 million won in child support to his ex-wife's child. Kim Dong-sung was indicted without detention last month on charges of violating the Act on the Security and Support of Child Care Expenses (hereinafter referred to as the Child Care Performance Act), and was put in court in November.
