Today (1st), webcomic IP production company Jaedam Media signed an animation contract with European animation producer and platform ADN (Animation Digital Network) for webcomics 'Hero Killer' (Writing: Honeybee / Picture: Honey)" he said.
The animation contract between Jaedam Media and France's ADN raises expectations as an example of K-webtoon expanding into animation in the global market.
'Hero Killer' is the representative original IP of Jaedam Media, and it is an action fantasy work in which the main character, Lee Hwa, becomes a hero killer and punishes a corrupt hero by determining revenge for the hero who killed her sister. It is popular as a series of Naver Webtoon Friday and is being serviced in a total of eight countries, including Line Webtoon North America, Japan, France, and Thailand. This global achievement of webtoons led to a global animation production contract with ADN.
ADN, which is responsible for animation production, is a leading producer of animations and a platform company that distributes animation content to France and major European countries, operating with professional animation studios. ADN has collaborated mainly on Japanese animation, and wants to show the possibility of expanding the IP of K-webtoon through 'hero Killer'. Jaedam Media has been actively promoting OSMU (One Source Multi Use) business such as video and animation by planning and producing content based on webtoons and novels. This contract with ADN is a symbolic example of the original IP of Jaedam Media expanding to various angles through a global platform.
This contract was officially commemorated at the SPP International Content Market 2025 site, and CEO of Jadam Media Hwang Abuse said, "The cooperation with ADN is an example of K-webtoon's competitiveness in the global market through animation. We will continue to expand the global influence of K-webtoon through cooperation with various platforms and studios." he said.
Bastien Guetta, head of content development at ADN, said "We're very excited to collaborate with joke media with this incredible IP called 'hero Killer." We are confident that K-webtoon will make a big difference in the global content industry, and we look forward to producing and presenting more Korean IPs in animation in the future," he commented.
In addition, webtoons produced by Jaedam Media such as `I have a baby', 'Lotto No. 1 are also coming to work' and 'Boy in Man' are receiving a lot of attention as they are set to air next year's drama.
