On this day, the Civil Agreement Department 41 (Judge Jung Hoe-il) of the Seoul Central District Court confirms that each exclusive contract concluded between the Plaintiff (Door) and the Defendant (New Jin's) is valid in a lawsuit against the five New Jin's members", and ruled in favor of the plaintiff.
Han Mae-yeon evaluated the ruling as an important decision reaffirming the stability of the exclusive contract system, which is the basis of the K-POP industry. The coalition has consistently pointed out that the incident is a serious issue that could shake the foundation of the entire K-pop industry based on trust between artists and production companies, and has expressed serious concerns about contract order and trust collapse within the industry.
In response, Han Mae-yeon has actively responded to resolve the situation and maintain industrial order by emphasizing the protection of the reliability of the contract based on the standard exclusive contract, such as issuing an official statement and urging the industry to self-purify efforts from the beginning of the dispute.
Han Mae-yeon praised the first trial court's ruling that recognized the validity of the contract as an extension of these efforts as a valid decision to protect the fairness of the industry, and expected it to be an important milestone for the sustainable development of K-POP.
Chairman Yoo Jae-woong Han Mae-yeon said, `We respect and welcome the court's wise judgment today"We hope that this ruling will serve as an opportunity to strengthen the trust of the industry's practices and contracts based on the standard exclusive contract, as the industry has expressed and actively responded to this incident."
Chairman Yoo added that `Han Mae-yeon will continue to do its best to create a sound industrial ecosystem and create an environment in which the rights and interests of artists and producers are mutually respected.'
Meanwhile, the Korea Management Association is a registered organization of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, which is established to ensure the sound development of the popular culture and arts industry, protect the rights and interests of its artists, and create a fair industrial environment.
