Hyun Joo-yup, a former basketball player and head of the Hwimungo basketball department, won some of the lawsuits filed against MBC 'True Exploration Team', which reported allegations of abuse of power and negligence in work surrounding him.

The Seoul Western District Court's Civil Agreement Department 12 (Judge Jinyoung Kim) ruled in favor of some of the plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed by Hyun Joo-yeop against MBC on the 26th of last month.

The court judged that there is a difference from the facts in the contents of the broadcast 'Realization Exploration Team', and ordered the host to read it at the same time by sending a correction report as a subtitle at the beginning of the 'Realization Exploration Team' that will be broadcast for the first time after the judgment is finalized. In addition, MBC ruled that Hyun Joo-yeop should be paid 15 million won.

Earlier in April last year, 'Real Story Exploration Team' reported that Hyun Joo-yup neglected his duties by frequently missing training and practice due to external schedules such as filming broadcasts. In the process, there were also allegations that he participated in the training of his son or verbally abused the basketball team coach to which his son belongs. Some of the parents submitted a petition to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education.

In response, Hyun Joo-yup responded "The allegations of concurrent positions and negligence in work are groundless, and the insufficient working hours were supplemented by alternative working hours.", and demanded some corrective reports through the mediation of the Media Arbitration Committee. He also filed a complaint with the Korea Communications Commission, appealing that `Please refrain from reporting speculation.'

In response to the ruling, MBC told Sports Chosun on the 1st that it has received a correction report and a compensation ruling, and is internally considering whether to appeal. The deadline for filing an appeal is within two weeks from the date of delivery of the judgment.
