BTS RM Shares Honest Thoughts on Marriage and Parenthood

RM recently talked with fans through the fan communication platform Weverse Live.
RM said "I envy people who are home alone. I feel alive when I come out. There seems to be a problem with not spending time well alone. I also wonder if this is why people get married. When my mother and father were my age, I was already 3 years old, but I still feel like a child. I wonder how my parents married at that age and gave birth to me. There must have been a social atmosphere at the time, but raising a child and building a family is great, he said.
"When I saw my parents, I thought I would get married someday, but I'm already 32 years old. I think I might not be able to do it like this. About 2 to 3 out of 10 of my friends are also married. It's a trend that I'm not doing it anymore. If you meet good timing and relationships, you can do it, but you can live alone at this rate."
RM said "There are some realistic parts and everyone seems to be chasing marriage. Women seem to continue to put pressure on the media and society, especially in terms of children and various issues. I wish I could live at my own pace. There doesn't seem to be an answer. In the end, if I can't endure time alone well, I wonder if getting married will improve. If you get married, you may want to be alone again. Getting married as a means of escape from loneliness is a bit..."
It also revealed about giving birth. He said "I don't even know, actually, I'm too much for myself to raise myself. But I give birth to a child and raise it? I don't think it's going to go my way. Considering that my parents were upset when I was young, I wonder how much I would hate a child like me to come out. It might be lovely, but there is no answer. I think marriage is a generation that has become an option for the first time since people born in the 90s. I think you have to go with your choice," he said, expressing his thoughts honestly.
Meanwhile, all members of RM's BTS have recently been discharged from the military and are preparing for a full comeback in 2026.
