A rental car president who stole money by threatening a female idol member's private life filmed on a rental car black box was convicted by a court.

According to the legal community on the 18th, Judge Gong Woo-jin of the Incheon District Court sentenced A, the CEO of a rental car company, to eight months in prison, two years of probation, and 120 hours of community service. The ruling is now in the final shape.

In February last year, A rented a van vehicle to idol B through a rental car company he runs. While checking the black box after receiving the vehicle back, he found that B was filming touching another male idol group member in the back of the vehicle.

After that, Mr. A decided to use the video to get the money, and to Mr. B "What did you do in the back of the car yesterday? Isn't that too much?He began threatening by sending a text message saying ". Then he mentioned the name of the group of men and said, `If you don't admit it, there's nothing you can do about it" he pressed.

Mr. A "It cost 47 million won to buy a car. Give me half of it for now," he said, also asking for money. The victim, B, transferred the money to A twice for fear of exposing his privacy, but A did not stop. A few days later, it's going to be recorded in real time. Just all the way to the end," he said, asking for additional money, mentioning the recording of the black box.

In the end, Mr. B, who was scared, transferred a total of 9,793,000 won three times. Mr. A's actions amounted to a crime of blackmail. Racketeering is applied when a person is threatened to gain property gains, and is subject to up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to 20 million won.

The court pointed out that "'the defendant committed the crime during the probation period, which is highly likely to be criticized.'" However, it said that the sentence was suspended by reflecting the fact that most of the extortion amount was returned to the victim and that the defendant admitted and reflected on the crime.
