Kim Joo-ha expressed his gratitude for Kim Dong-gun, saying, "I got married and had a child, and he came to my first birthday party." Meanwhile, Kim Joo-ha married Kang in October 2004. Kim Joo-ha gave birth to her first child in 2006, two years after marriage, and took a leave of absence for about a year and eight months for the birth and childcare of her second child before returning to broadcasting. However, Kim Joo-ha filed for divorce in 2013, nine years after marriage, after suffering from discord over her husband Kang's affair and violence. Eventually, her husband Kang was sentenced to eight months in prison and two years of probation in 2014, and Kim Joo-ha was sentenced to divorce in June 2016, two years and nine months after filing for divorce.
The third section of the Supreme Court reads "The two divorce, and her husband Kang pays 50 million won in alimony to his wife Kim." Kim confirmed the original ruling, saying, "Divide KRW 1.021 billion of the KRW 2.7 billion in assets under his name to Kang."
