Cho Byung-kyu filed a 4 billion lawsuit against the school violence reveler, but lost..'The costs of litigation are also paid by the person himself.'

Actor Cho Byung-kyu filed a lawsuit for damages worth 4 billion won against the reveler who raised suspicions of school violence against him, but lost.

According to the Herald Economy exclusive report on the 1st, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Affairs Department 37 (Chief Justice Lee Sang-won) ruled against the plaintiff in a lawsuit filed by Cho Byung-kyu and his former agency HB Entertainment against the reveler A. The court "It is difficult to conclude that the disclosure is false only with the evidence submitted by Cho Byung-kyu.", dismissing all Cho Byung-kyu's claims. Cho Byung-kyu will also bear the cost of the lawsuit.

During the trial, Cho Byeong-gyu suffered about KRW 4 billion in losses due to A's false disclosure, including dropping out of the advertising model and canceling appearances in dramas, movies, and entertainment shows", and demanded compensation, including 200 million won in alimony.

However, the court did not accept Cho's claim. The court said "It is difficult to say that Mr. A posted false information only on the evidence submitted by Mr. Cho Byung-kyu."It was judged that none of the six-month conversations A had with Cho Byung-kyu's acquaintance admitted that it was false."

In addition, the court did not accept Cho Byung-kyu's claim that "'A admitted that it was false that A deleted the post' out of fear of a lawsuit for a complaint and a large amount of damages'.

In addition, the affidavits of about 20 acquaintances who denied school violence submitted by Cho Byung-kyu were not recognized as evidence. The court said "These are all people that Byung-kyu Cho had a relationship with in Korea, and it is difficult to directly confirm the facts of the case in New Zealand.", he explained.

Cho Byung-kyu reportedly appealed against the first trial's ruling. The second trial will be held at the Seoul High Court.

Earlier, Cho Byung-kyu sued the reveler A for defamation, but it was decided not to send him.

Meanwhile, Cho Byung-kyu attracted attention by appearing in dramas 'Sky Castle' and 'Amazing Rumors', but his activities were disrupted in 2021 due to allegations of school violence.

He is currently continuing his career in acting and fashion and will return to the film 'Finding Hidden Money' in the second half of this year.
