Director Lee Jung-rim met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 10th and interviewed Netflix series 'You Killed' (played by Kim Hyo-jung, directed by Lee Jung-rim). Director Lee said, `Yesterday, my mother-in-law watched all eight episodes and called me crying. After watching it until the 8th inning, Eun-soo (Jeon Son-ni) and Hee-soo (Lee Yoo-mi) made me cry and they said, `They're doing well.' On Saturday, I ate out with my mom and my daughter, and she suddenly bought it? He was about to shed tears. She is a blunt Gyeongsang-do woman, and even my mother's generation in her 70s was not pleasant, but I think she was happy to think that it was a good drama to watch. My father also said he enjoyed watching it. My dad is a power F who sends his feelings in a poem after the family meeting. In particular, he said he had a hard time because he liked the story of Hee-soo in the second part."
Director Lee then mentioned her husband's reaction and said, `As soon as the husband was released at 5 p.m., people around him 'Why does your wife always do this?He said '. I also made a piece of work that is 'In-laws', and since I'm an in-house couple, people around me say 'What is he doing to do that kind of work?' But my husband also said it was good because he had the courage to do a good work. In fact, I was taking a class related to domestic violence before making this work, and I had to get out of parenting because it was on a weekday evening, but my husband made me comfortable, saying, `I have to listen to it,' even though I had to finish it twice a week at 11 or 11 p.m," he said with a smile.
Director Lee Jung-rim listened to the stories of actual domestic violence victims to make 'You killed'. He thought that he should be really careful, thinking "Will people with trauma be able to see it?" Some survivors said they couldn't even leave the house. Everyone seemed to look at him even when he went outside, and he said it wasn't my fault, but his skin hurt just by blowing the wind. So, at the end, I decided to write a story that made me curious about the weather like Heesoo's narration. Hee-soo said, "Have you ever been curious about the weather, I've been through a time of pain, but now I can look out the window."
Director Lee then said of the ending, "'The novel ends with a departure to a third country, an unknown country. I liked the ending of the novel, but I'll live well without any damage. But I thought I'd make this a series and need a different ending. When I think of Eun-soo and Hee-soo, I think I'm going to turn myself in. I'll take my sins sweetly. It's up to them to admit it and how happy life will be next, but they're thinking about the god of the court to the writer. I said that I remembered Eun-soo and Hee-soo standing and talking calmly. The writer thinks about it, and I think it's necessary. I thought I needed that god to be able to choose murder and be more free until I just ran, so that's where I thought I should go differently from the original. And if you look at the writer's synopsis, there's a word in front of it. What Hee-soo said to the court was that even though God did not call, the kicking was just around the corner. You wrote a good story about the bystander. I wish I could throw a little message about the bystander. I wish we could share some room to think about this. Because domestic violence is treated as a private sector. It's because I said it was a domestic disturbance, and I said it was wrong. I thought it would be nice to be treated as a social problem, so I decided to deal with it more. I think that's why the title was named as such."
Finally, director Lee mentioned what he wanted to convey to the viewers and said, `I think it's important what I made it with. I think I should put it that way. The national wealth system?? A real survivor came to the GV and asked a question. It's the first time I've been asked to cry a lot. If those people see it, I hope it will be a little comforting. And it is also the actors who talked a lot with real actors and bravely chose a subject that would be good for people to have a public view without being comfortable. Because you can't make a drama without actors. I hope our mindset works a little bit. I want to say that" he said.
'You Killed' is a series about two women who decide to kill in front of the reality that they cannot escape unless they die or kill. Director Lee Jung-rim, who directed dramas 'evil' and 'VIP', directed the movie, and Jeon Son-i and Lee Yoo-mi played Cho Eun-soo and Cho Hee-soo, respectively, depicting the stories of the main characters who save each other against violence. Jang Seung-jo has the same face as Hee-soo's husband Noh Jin-pyo, but he played two roles, including Janggang, who is completely contrasted, and Lee played Jin So-baek watching Eun-soo and Hee-soo.
