The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Choi Hwi-young) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (Director Yoo Hyun-suk, hereinafter Con Jin-won) supported Japan's representative broadcast video market 'Tokyo Film Market (TIFFCOM) 2025' held in Tokyo, Japan from October 28 to 31 and the customized overseas expansion of the native online video service (OTT) platform.

Through this event, Conjinwon recorded export consultation worth about 236 billion won, enhancing the competitiveness of K-content in Japan and strengthening the foundation for shared growth of content and platforms.

◇ Demonstrate K-content presence in Japan's largest video market 'TIFFCOM 2025'




Tifcom, which marks its 22nd anniversary this year, is Japan's largest video content market held in conjunction with the Tokyo International Film Festival and is an international business event that is the center of global cooperation such as intellectual property (IP), remake rights, co-production and investment.

Twenty-three domestic broadcasting and video content companies, including ▶Astory ▶ Channel A ▶ CJ ENM ▶ Coupang play ▶ KBS Media ▶ KT Studio Genie ▶ Culture Broadcasting (MBC), ▶ SLL Central ▶ Studio S, and ▶U+Mobile TV, participated in the event and held business meetings with major buyers. As a result, it achieved about $165 million (about 236 billion won) in consultation.

Lee Jung-woo, head of U+Mobile TV team, said "By participating in Tiffcom, we were able to directly confirm the hot response of the Japanese market and the status of K-content."Thanks to the systematic support of Konjinwon, we were able to sign a distribution agreement with major Japanese telecommunications companies for the drama "Lovephobia"." It was said.




Meanwhile, on October 28, in order to expand exchanges in the content industry between the two countries, the 「Korea-Japan Content Business Exchange」 was held jointly with the Konjinwon Tokyo Business Center. About 100 officials from 62 major Japanese content companies, including ▶ NHK ▶ TV Asahi ▶ Nippon Televi ▶ NBC, Universal Entertainment Japan ▶ Sony Canyon, attended the exchange to discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation and discover new partnerships.

◇ 'Tving·U+Mobile TV'Enters Asian Market by Supporting Session Cooperation and Showcase Organization

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Conjinwon are operating customized overseas expansion support projects for each platform to promote global distribution of native online video service (OTT) platforms in Korea. This year, it actively supported strengthening the platform competitiveness of 'Tibing' and 'U+Mobiletv' and expanding the global market of K-content by preparing programs linking 'Northeast Asia Video Summit 2025' and 'Tipcom 2025'.




The project has been promoted since last year and has been supporting the expansion of global markets such as promotion and booth operation in overseas markets. This year, it has achieved results such as raising overseas awareness of 'Tving' and 'U+Mobile TV', inflow of buyers, and discovery of distribution channels, and through this, it embodied the 'K-OTT·Content Export Model' that will drive the global spread of K-Content.

◇ Releasing K-OTT strategy and content on the Japanese stage, strengthening its position in global OTT competition

Konjinwon cooperated and supported the organization of the TVing session at the Asia Film Industry Association (AVIA) hosted at Toranomon Hills in Andaz, Tokyo, on October 28. The forum was attended by officials from major global media companies, including ▶TBS ▶ DAZN Japan ▶ Warner Bros. Discovery ▶ A+E, to discuss changes in the global video business environment and future content strategies and partnership plans.

Under the theme of 'TVING's Growth Strategy as the Leading K-OTT', Cho Seong-hyun, Chief Business Officer (CBO), introduced Tibing's original IP-centered global distribution strategy and local partnership model, and presented the competitiveness and growth potential of Tibing in the global media industry as a brand of 'K-OTT'.

Then, on October 30, 'U+Mobile TV' held an original content showcase 'LGU+ Drama Premiere 2025' at the Tokyo Metropolitan Trade Center. Conjinwon cooperated in the overall showcase, including securing and planning Venue, and participating works and were first unveiled in Japan at the meeting.

At the showcase, actors Yeonwoo and Kim Hyun-jin of "Lovephobia" and actors Kwon Na-yeon, Kim Dong-hyun, and Ko Kyu-pil, as well as directors and PDs, took the stage to receive enthusiastic responses from local audiences through planning intentions, introducing characters and episodes, and screening highlight videos. At the event, which was attended by about 100 people, "Lovephobia" achieved practical results in signing on-site contracts with Japanese telecommunications companies, and was able to confirm the interest and success of original intellectual property (IP)-based contents in Japan.
