The BBC released an interview with Cats Eye on the 11th. Since her debut, Cats Eye has complained that she has been threatened with murder and racism.
Lara, an Indian American, has received thousands of death threats. I tried to be sure, but it's hard. I know it won't actually happen, but it comes too heavy. He received racist malicious comments and was falsely reported to ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) that he lived and worked illegally in the United States. There was also an excessive body search during immigration. Eventually, I deleted my SNS. I realized that I didn't have to accept every other person's opinion."
Sophia says "Too much has already been said to us and our family. We chose to be in public, and I know we have to deal with this, but that doesn't mean we're not people."
Cats Eye is Hive's U.S.-localized multinational girl group that debuted in 2024. It consists of Manong Sophia Daniela Lara Megan Yun Chae, selected through Hive's global audition program 'The Debut: Dream Academy' in 2023. They ranked their debut album 'Sys' at 119th on Billboard's main album chart 'Bilbord 200' and made consecutive hits 'Nally'Gabriella' and were nominated for the 68th Grammy Awards 'Best New Artist' and 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance' to be held on Feb. 1 next year.
Cats Eye has been conducting its first solo North American tour 16 times in 13 cities since the 15th.
