KBS prepared a memorial space in memory of the late actor Lee Soon-jae.

KBS expressed its deepest condolences to Lee Soon-jae and his bereaved family who ate at dawn today (25th). The deceased, who was the oldest active actor, is a person who has written the history of Korean dramas with passionate acting activities throughout his life. Before color TV was distributed in Korea, the deceased began acting as an exclusive actor for the 1st generation of TBC in 1965, and has contributed to greatly improving the dignity of Korean TV dramas with the development of broadcasting technology," he said.

In particular, KBS left a deep resonance for viewers with its sincere performances from the 1980s to 2024, including "The Wind," "Ordinary People," "Bathroom Men," "Mom Got Angry," and "DogSori." KBS selected the deceased as the oldest winner of the KBS Drama Awards last year to honor his passion for acting at the age of 9 in the 2TV drama "The Dog Sori."," he added.

To commemorate Lee Soon-jae, KBS organized a special program to commemorate the deceased and prepared a memorial space. KBS2 will air "Remembrance Special National Actor Lee Soon-jae" from 10:45 p.m. to 0:05 p.m. tonight, and "Remembrance Special National Actor Lee Soon-jae" from 11:10 p.m. to 0:25 p.m. tomorrow (26th). KBSN has organized episodes 1-6 of "Dogsori" from 10 a.m. on the 27th (Thursday) and 7-12 of "Dogsori" from 10 a.m. on the 28th (Friday).

The memorial space was set up on the second floor of the KBS main building in Yeouido, Seoul. Public condolences are available and will be available until Sunday the 30th.

Meanwhile, Lee Soon-jae passed away early on the 25th. He was 91. The deceased, who had been rumored to have health problems since last year, still burned his acting spirit last year by appearing in the KBS2 drama 『GaeSori』, but the play 『Waiting for Godot』 brought about a break.




Lee Soon-jae, who won the grand prize last year for 'GaeSori' at the '2024 KBS Acting Awards', said "Viewers who came so late and encouraged me like this, and viewers who are watching at home, I have been indebted and helped a lot throughout my life. Thank you."I once expressed my feelings.

The mortuary was set up in Room 30 of the funeral hall of Asan Medical Center in Seoul, and the coffin is 6:20 a.m. on the 27th, and the burial site is Icheon Eden Paradise.
